Description
There are very few cigar companies in the world that combine the mythos, quality and products as Arturo Fuente. Although best known for its infamous Fuente Fuente OpusX line that debuted in 1995, the cigar that landed on our top 25list this year has a far more interesting story.
While the original blend was introduced in 2013 as part of Arturo Fuente’s 100th anniversary celebrations, 2016 brought a brand new version of the cigar that was dictated by Carlos Fuente Sr. to the factory over the phone before he passed away in August. Fuente was less than forthcoming on the blend details of the 6 1/8 x 47 corona gorda, but we know that it was different than the original release and was packaged in 30-count boxes.
Profile-wise, the Casa Cuba Divine Inspiration is a flavor bomb, with overt notes of creamy peanut butter and nougat sweetness interspersed with flavors of espresso beans, hay and dark chocolate. Construction was top-notch and the barely less than medium strength was well integrated overall.
