Description
Padron Black 97 maduro, also called PB97 cigars, are blended from exclusive reserves of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos harvested and aged for several years by the Padrón family. The most talented rollers at the Padrón factory handcraft Padrón Black 97 maduro in a 6.75-by-54 Torpedo. The blend is available in your choice of a Natural or a Maduro wrapper leaf.
Phenomenal notes of dark cocoa, earth, and black pepper mingle over a malty foundation with accents of molasses and baking spices. Darker, sweeter notes resonate with additional layers of complexity in the Maduro wrapper, while the Natural blend layers the palate with the classic flavors of cocoa powder and spice Padrón is known for.
Brand owner Jorge Padrón has released a handful of Padrón Black cigars over the years exclusively for cigar retailers who are members of the TAA (Tobacconists’ Association if America) and the PCA (Premium Cigar Association).
Padrón blends toe the line between aggressiveness and balance, and the Padron Black 97 Maduro is a great example of this feat. Sure, there is plenty of spice and black pepper—especially in the first puffs—but those notes are tempered expertly by the rich flavors in the profile, a list that includes charred meat, creamy almonds, coffee beans and even some distinct cherry sweetness on the retrohale. Throw in the amazing construction and you are left with a blend that is well worth the effort to track down.
